White Light
I’ve seen the white light cutting me inside
I’ve fallen catatonic and died
I’ve touched a thousand faces that had no eyes
A future I can not hide
Premonitory dreams I see every time I sleep
Pictures you wouldn’t believe
Abstract metaphors for the life I lead
Your minds are too naive
I entered a club and when I got inside
The door vanished from behind
An empty room, in the middle grew a tree
How did this get inside my mind?
Up in the tree there sat a girl
Crying her eyes out until they bled
From the tree she picked a ripe apple
Threw it and it hit my head
Electronic voice:
She hurled another and a third
Dug a nail into the next
Used the nail to write a word
Tossed it at me, I read the text
What it said I will never know
Some strange symbols like Japanese
I begged her to explain — don’t go!
She blew a kiss at me and sneezed
And then she was gone
